ITALY
PUGLIA: GARGANO AND SALENTO
The Gargano Promontory, often referred to the spur of the boot of Italy, is located in the north-western area of the Puglia region. A mountainous area with the most extensive National Park, it projects itself in the Adriatic Sea, where the winds blow from north or south.
Our partner school Garganosurf of the ex Kitesurfing World Champion Astrid Berz, offers courses and rentals in all wind and surf sports, including wingfoiling and E-foil. It guarantees experienced instructors and top quality gear.
The spot is located just outside of Vieste, a small scenic town which is also an ideal base for exploring the Gargano. It can be reached by Foggia and Bari, the closest airport at 2,5 hour drive.
Salento is the southern-most area of the 'heel' of Italy's 'boot' shape. It is blessed with different winds such as the Maestrale and the Tramontana and two coast lines on both sides of the peninsula with spots in the Ionian Sea and Adriatic Sea.
Partnering with Locals Salento Kitesurf since 2019, we provide lessons with the latest equipment from Duotone, as well as rentals and sales of more advanced models. We can guide you to several spots of the region with the best conditions according to the different wind directions.
In the Ionian Sea side, Kitesurfing activity is carried from the boat in Torre San Giovanni. In the Adriatic Sea it is possible to start directly from the beach where Locals Crew has a specific authorization for Kiteboarding near the city of Lecce.
